Dog Leash
Transferring Instructions


Supplies Needed

• Spray adhesive or heat tape
• Dog Leash 5 ft. long with 48” imprint area
• Blank newsprint to cover printed areas.


Step 1: Adjust Heat Press
Heat Press Temperature: 400 deg. F.
Dwell Time: 45 seconds Pressure: Firm

Note: These instructions, including transfer times and temperatures, are based on the inks, paper, equipment and products we use. Other inks, papers, etc. may require adjustments in your time/temp settings.

2: Design Your Transfer

1 The Dog leash is 5 ft long. The print area is 47.5” long. I suggest breaking up your leash design into 3 sections at 16” long per section. Then cut each section so you can butt the middle section right up to the first and third section as you press. Butt up the third section up to the second section, tape in position and press.

Create your artwork, then break it up into 3 equal segments of 16” long. Cut the transfers apart for easily handling. Light spray or tape the first 16” strip.

2. Align the transfer up with the beginning of the dog leash. Place the Dog Leash and transfer on the heat press, face-up at an angle so that the ends of the Dog Leash extends over the sides of the press.
Cover the unprinted section with blank newsprint to keep it clean.

3. Using Firm pressure, press at 400 Deg. F. for 45 seconds.

5. Remove Dog Leash from press and peel transfer. Do this two more times, aligning the middle strip in position and fixing with spray or tape. 

Use newsprint to cover and protect the print and non-print areas as you go. If you have a wide format printer and 48” wide heat press you can design your transfer so that it is larger than the Dog leash print area(48” long) and you can print and press the leash all at one time.
