Handsome black slate has naturally chiseled edges and King Coat™ white dye-sub coating for stunning custom prints every time. Package slate as coasters to protect tables and furniture, or offer them as light paperweights to hold things in place on a desk or dresser. Slate withstands temps hot enough for coffee, and cold enough for ice tea. Perfect for entertaining or everyday use. Hand-carved and shaped, no two are exactly alike. We regret we cannot hand-pick. Hand wash only with water, a soft cloth and mild soap. No abrasives or harsh chemicals. Available in 4" Square, 4" Heart, and 4.25" Round shapes.

TRANSFER INSTRUCTIONS

Slate
Transferring Instructions
Read these instructions completely before you begin.
Supplies Needed
• Slate
• Sublimation Transfer
• Heat Gloves
• ½” felt pad
Step 1: Adjust Heat Press
Heat Press Temperature: 400o F
Dwell Time: 4 ½-5 minutes
Pressure: Firm

Note: These instructions, including transfer times and temperatures, are based on the inks, paper, presses, and products we use. Your inks, papers, etc. may require adjustments in your settings.
Step 2: Design & Print Your Transfer

Design your transfer based on the tile size. If you are designing a full-bleed image, we recommend designing the transfer so that it is at least 1/8” larger than each tile, all the way around.
Step 3: Transfer the Image

1. Lightly dampen the back of your Sublimation Transfer with a wet sponge
2. Place Slate face down onto transfer paper on felt pad.
3. Using Firm pressure, press for 4 ½-5 minutes at 400o F.
Step 4: Cooling

Using Heat Gloves carefully remove the Slate from the press and allow them to air cool or place the Slate under a fan to cool them faster.
Transfer Tips
• Dampening the back of the Sublimation Transfer allows the paper to conform better to the crevices of Slate. Be careful not to wet the transfer too much or let water touch the ink.
• Be cognizant that some slate coasters may be thicker than others, and as a result, pressure may vary.
