TRANSFER INSTRUCTIONS

Frosted Glass Ornament
Transferring Instructions
Read these instructions completely before you begin.
Supplies Needed
• Sublimatable Frosted Glass Ornaments
• Sublimation Transfers
• Heat Resistant Felt Pads
• Heat Gloves
• 1/16” Thick Thermal Rubber Mat

Step 1: Adjust Heat Press
Heat Press Temperature: 400o F
Dwell Time: 3 - 3.5 minutes
Pressure: Light

Note: These instructions, including transfer times and temperatures, are based on the inks, paper, presses, and products we use. Your inks, papers, etc. may require adjustments to your settings.
Step 2: Design & Print Your Transfer

Note: Do Not Reverse The Image. Design your transfer based on the ornament size and shape. Do not reverse the image. If you are designing a full-bleed image, we recommend that you design the transfer so that it is at least 1/8” larger than the ornament, around each side. This bleed allowance is already built into our templates. Our templates are posted on our website at http://www.laserreproductions.com/Design-Templates.html.
Step 3: Transfer the Image

1. Place two of LRI’s Heat Resistant Felt Pads on your press bed. You can fold one over so it is as thick as two.
2. Place your transfer face-up on the felt pads.
3. Place the glass ornament on the felt pad, with the frosted side face-down on the transfer.
4. Cover with the Thermal Rubber Mat.
5. Using Light pressure, press the first ornament for 3.5 minutes at 400o F.

Step 4: Cooling

Carefully remove ornaments from press and allow them to air cool. While the ornaments are still hot, the coating will be soft and susceptible to scratching. For best results, allow ornaments to cool slowly; do not immerse Glass Ornaments in water or cool using a fan!
Transfer Tips & Tricks

 If you notice paper sticking, reduce the temperature. If that does not help, call Technical Support for assistance.
 Very light pressure is required. Excessive pressure may result in breakage of the ornaments.
 Do not use glue on the back (frost side) of ornaments. Glue makes the frost “disappear” permanently, and the ornament will look like clear glass.
 If you want to glue something to the back of the ornaments, or if you prefer an opaque look, you can coat the backs with white paint. However, do so only after ornaments are completely cool. Also, to avoid any overspray contaminating the front of your ornaments, mask the front and spray directly down onto the ornament, not from an angle.
 If you have problems or questions while pressing, stop production immediately and contact Technical Support for help.
